Children
When working with children, I create a nurturing and supportive environment where they feel safe to express themselves. I often use therapeutic art and play to help children communicate their thoughts and emotions in a way that feels natural to them. By integrating creative activities like drawing, storytelling, and role-playing, I can help children process their experiences and develop coping skills in a non-threatening way. My goal is to build trust and offer guidance as they navigate their emotions and behaviours.
Young People & Adolescents
Counselling young people and adolescents requires a blend of empathy, respect, and flexibility. I recognise the unique challenges they face, from identity formation to peer pressure and academic stress. I use a combination of therapeutic art modalities underpinned by the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and The Polyvagal Theory to address issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and behavioural concerns. These approaches help adolescents develop healthy coping strategies, build resilience, and gain confidence in their ability to handle life’s challenges. I also value their input in the counselling process, empowering them to take an active role in their personal growth.
Adults and Parenting
For adult clients, I offer a collaborative and client-centred approach, tailoring my methods to meet their individual needs. I offer tailored, evidence-based support for adults and parents, utilising therapies such as CBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I assist parents in navigating the challenges of parenting while fostering personal growth, building coping skills, and providing insights to strengthen their mental health and well-being.
